I’m an all-out cook. My family bakes and cooks for days to get ready for the holidays. Eating out would be easier, but it would feel wrong. Not only that, but it seems wrong to me to ask the waitors, cooks, and other staff to work on Thanksgiving day. On this day and Christmas, I only want to see the absolutely critical services open, things like hospitals and such. I was disgusted to see a discount department store ad bragging that they were open for business on Thanksgiving. How tacky can you get?
