No Free Lunch!

I’m feeling pretty cynical these days. All I seem to be able to say to people is “honey, there ain’t no free lunch.” There is both a cost and a benefit to everything we do or have. The trick is to take a minute to decide whether it’s worth the cost. I think Most people don’t realize that they can and must make that choice for themselves. Sometimes the costs and even the benefits are hidden until we take time to ask what they are. Even if you’re offered a free lunch, someone is still picking up the tab. You will pay for it down the line somehow. Sometimes that’s ok.

No one will make your life better for you. You have to do that for yourself. Friends and a mate can make the journey more fun and worthwhile, but they cannot make our lives worth more just by being around.

I’m tired now, and I’m going to bed. The cost of sleeping late tomorrow will be worth it. :)

Yeah, it’s interesting how many implications there are to all of our actions that we don’t even think about, and we might act differently if we were present to all the effects that our actions have on people. Every time we make a decision about what to buy or whether to buy it or how to get somewhere, there are consequences that might affect other people before they affect us, and our society is so complex and interrelated that it’s very easy not to notice and hard to know what they are all the time. *sigh*

    And maybe I’ll add you…
