Google Books?

I read online yesterday that Google is looking into the posibility of offering digital books for rent. I think this idea is definitely cool! :D I would love to be able to rent a book and read it without having to scan anything. If they do this well, blind people would have unprecedented access to information as well as entertainment. Now that’s what I call an information highway. In my lifetime, we have gone from not being able to access even 10% of books and magazines to having the ability to read almost anything with the right technology. My Braille school books took up 2 walls of bookcases, and now those books are available in a palm-style computer with a Braille display. As an elementary school student, the idea of a scanner was like the things you see in the Jetsons cartoons. But now… scanners can read even cluttered newspaper pages and cost less than $100. This is just the best time for a blind person to be alive. I am so excited by this idea and can hardly wait to see if Google can get the publishers to work out an agreement. Go Google!!! :D
