This is my favorite book in the Alan Gregory series featuring a clinical psychologist and his wife, a district attorney. This book takes a new approach, making Alan a supporting character this time. It’s more subtle than some of the others with a complexity that reminds me of good wine or chocolate. There is an ironic bittersweetness in the plot and characters that is compelling. It has stayed with me since I read the book two years ago. It’s a thriller that will keep you turning pages long after you’ve told yourself it’s time for bed.
